2012 - A barn divided in 3 rentable gîtes, Raissac sur Lampy
This old dilapidated barn 8 meters deep and over 30 meters long had one large lean-to roof and a solid long back wall with only a few little high windows. The owners thought about making three equal self-catering accommodations for holiday rental. We proposed a plan with three different sized 'gîtes' to allow different sized groups or families to stay over. That idea pleased them a lot. So we designed a 1, 2 and 3 bedroom accommodation with all bathrooms at the solid wall side with additional roof windows for better daylight conditions. The large arched window doors connect the living rooms with the terraces. The apartment in the middle has a pergola to cover the terrace, the other apartments both have a terrace covered by a roof on the east side and west side of the building.
