New build project in a monumental protected area. The front side had to be traditional, but on the back side of the house, we designed a modern open extension, like an eye, to benefit the beautiful view. We've created a surface of 130 m2 with two large bedrooms with their own bathrooms and an open, spaciousl and light living area/kitchen with a story-high bay window with three double doors towards the garden. To stay within the budget the carpenter made a wooden construction in which standard double doors would fit in. The oak beams give the house the typical country style and the high ceilings contribute to the light and spacious experience of the living space. Above one of the bedrooms, a mezzanine floor gives room to an extra bedroom or office. The covered terrace that adds to the kitchen is orientated south-east and benefits the sun as well as the view over the valley.
