This big barn had two levels and a sloping roof. To make the space lighter and more interesting we created a long mezzanine floor under the highest part of the roof and partially opened up the first floor to the ground floor. By doing so the living room on the first floor is directly connected to the family kitchen downstairs by a set of wooden stairs with a metal structure. New roof windows pull in the light all the way to the ground floor. An outside terrace designed around big tree tree subtlety divided in a lounge area and a place for the dining table forms a nice connection between the kitchen downstairs and the garden with swimming pool. The terrace around the swimming pool is retiled and the characteristic orangery is completely renovated and equipped with new windows.
